About

Dr. Anna Cohen

Anna is a clinical psychologist, endorsed by the Psychology Board of Australia, with more than 30 years’ experience working with children, adolescents, and families across government and private practice settings.

Her clinical work centres on complex emotional, behavioural, and psychiatric presentations in young people, alongside parenting and the family systems that shape what happens at home. She works from the principle that method follows formulation — that the right approach for a child follows from understanding that child, not from a preferred technique.

Alongside her clinical practice, Anna is a Board-Approved Supervisor and co-founder of the Clinical Psychology Resource Centre, which provides formulation-led professional development, supervision, and training for clinicians working with children, adolescents, and families across Australia. She developed the Regulated Parenting Model™️, an approach to positioning parents as the agent of change in their child’s treatment, and teaches it to clinicians and parents alike.

Anna is the author of four parenting books and the mother of two young adults, bringing clinical training and lived parenting experience to the same work.

She is known for translating complex psychological concepts into clear, practical strategies parents can use — and for teaching other clinicians to do the same.

Her focus is a simple one: helping families work through what is in front of them, so that children can get back to development, relationships, and ordinary childhood.

For clinicians — Anna presents, supervises, and teaches through the Clinical Psychology Resource Centre. See training and supervision

How do we work?

It All Starts With You

We choose the treatment method that best suits your personal and family needs. We value your views of your current situation and work closely with you to make change possible. We know that families come to us wanting things to shift, and we work to make the path from assessment to change as clear and as direct as we can.
